ATTENTION DEFICIT HYPERACTIVITY DISORDER

This is another problem which is commonly seen in childrens,but generally not recognized by parents or overlook by them, they feel that this is the age where child can do such things and it will subsides as child grows.In this problem there is no impairement in intelligence but despite of this there is difficulty in concentration and the child is unable to stand still at one place,he keeps on moving here and there in house.This can cause self injury to child and sometimes to others,also leads to decreased performance in school or given task.
This problem is corrected with the help of some medicines and counselling and psychotherapy of child and parents.Generally parents does'nt want to give medicines,because they does'nt want to label his child as a psychiatric patient,but the medicines are just for short periods and are necessary to control the hyperactivity for proper counselling and for better result.Generally there are no specific sideeffects of drugs.
